About Anna
I know what makes in-house legal successful.
Because I have not just observed transformation — I have shaped it, again and again.
Moving from a large law firm into an in-house role started a series of transformations for me: my own, from external adviser to in-house counsel, and later from lawyer to leader — alongside the transformation of a legal department that had to reinvent itself with its company time and again.
I had the rare opportunity to shape the legal function at Delivery Hero for almost twelve years, across very different company phases: from building the legal team in a start-up through hypergrowth and global scaling to the IPO — and later through the next phase, with a new focus on profitability and efficiency.
Today I lead several teams of around 30 lawyers and, as Deputy General Counsel, I am responsible for legal operations on a global level, among other areas. In that role I am shaping the next major transformation: the shift towards a legal department that consistently uses technology and artificial intelligence and fundamentally rethinks the way it works.
For me, transformation is not only about process and technology — above all it is about people. In more than 100 recruitment processes I have assessed lawyers, hired dozens of them and supported many on their path from private practice to successful in-house counsel and on into leadership roles.
